Skills in the park -cornering and one handed skills

These sessions are a fun way to learn how to improve your balance, cornering, climbing, descending and basic race skills - please register so that we know who is coming. We ride from the car park to practice these activities in local parks. Please bring helmet, lights (even in summer months), drink of water, small snack (e.g. banana), small rucsac, suitable clothing and a bike in good working order. READY SET RIDE - Bike Week event for younger riders with balance bikes/ stabilisers

for young riders aged 3-8 years who are using a balance bike / cycle with stabilisers/ just finished with stabilisers. This will be an introduction to the British Cycling app READY SET RIDE which provides a fun way of improving bike handling skills.  HELMETS are essential. PARENTS ARE EXPECTED TO STAY FOR THE WHOLE SESSION. Downloading the Ready Set Ride will allow parents to see how best to use the app for their children. What is a Park Ride ? We have a circuit of 1 km at the Silk Mills park and ride which you ride around several times. It is a bit like a 'park run' and it helps you to improve your stamina. You keep a record of your time and see if you can gradually improve over a series of 'park rides' 'Under 8' (born 2010 onwards) ride 3 circuits. 'Under 12' (2006-2007) +'Under 14' (2004-2005) ride 5 circuits, Under 16 (2002-2003) ride 7 circuits.  The park run is a simple 'time trial' We then offer some skills/ fun activities Parents of new riders must complete the consent form (on the website).
