Cyclocross off-road skills at Silk Mills park and ride

Meet near ticket office. The activity will take place in the park area just east of the car parking area. Ordinary or MTB cycles are suitable (road cycles with narrow tyres not ideal) Parents of new riders must complete the consent form  (click on link). Older more experienced riders (must be at least 12 years old) will have a road ride The club has Hi vis jackets Please bring helmet, bright front and rear lights, spare inner tube, drink of water, small snack (e.g. banana), small rucsac, suitable clothing (warm layers, waterproofs, and a bike in good working order.   A trail ride along the canal path towards Bridgwater. We will meet at the car park at Maunsel Lock (TA7 0DH). Directions- A38 towards Bridgwater, at Walford Cross take A358 (direction Glastonbury) and after 2 miles turn left into country lane (1st left after crossing railway). Follow country lane, after crossing canal bridge take 1st right to maunsel Lock  Please bring helmet, lights, small snack, drink water, waterproof, small rucksack. What is a Park Ride ? We have a circuit of 1 km at the Silk Mills park and ride which you ride around several times. It is a bit like a 'park run' and ithelps you to improve your stamina. You keep a record of your time and see if you can gradually improve over a series of 'park rides' Registration is at 09.45  for 10.00 start.  'Under 8' (born 2011 onwards), Under 10 (2009-2011)ride 3 circuits. 'Under 12' (2007-2008) +'Under 14' (2005-2006) ride 5 circuits, Under 16 (2003-2004) ride 7 circuits.  The park run is a simple 'time trial' We then offer some skills/ fun activities Parents of new riders must complete the consent form  (click on link). A trail ride along the canal path towards Bridgwater. We will meet at the car park at Maunsel Lock (TA7 0DH). Directions- A38 towards Bridgwater, at Walford Cross take A358 (direction Glastobury). After 2miles along A358 turn left (this is 1st left after crossing railway bridge).
