Following the recent announcements regarding government restrictions on group meeting, we are still able to operate our outdoor coaching sessions in a group of up to 30.  This is in accordance with the British Cycling guidance on resuming club activities.  This allows us to meet as a larger group of up to 30 to the front building in the centre of the park and ride.  We still ask you to keep 2 metres apart at the meeting point and throughout the session. This event is open to both existing club members and new members.  We are limited on rider numbers to a maximum of 24 riders and will be coaching in 3 groups of up to 8 riders. We will be closing online bookings at 12pm on Saturday 5th December. If you are not booked in, you will not be able to attend the session. Sign in is at 10.20am and as soon as you are signed in we will ask you to start warming up and be ready to ride at 10.30. You will need to bring your own : bike (we suggest tyres that are suitable for riding on grass) helmet water bottle snack warm layers and waterproof if wet £2 session fee in a named envelope. Exact change only as we will not be able to give any change. We will be unable to share or lend any equipment during this session. In line with current government guidelines, masks or face coverings are not required if social distancing is maintained. At this stage using face masks or coverings is a personal choice but it should not restrict breathing.  Riders could use a buff around their neck which is easy to remove. We are asking parents to undertake a comprehensive bike check prior to arrival at the session, as coaches will be unable to make any adjustments, in line with current guidance. Time Trial and Sunday Skills at Silk Mills

A slightly different session this Sunday where we will be restarting our time trial event with rider options of completing either a 3km, 5km or 7km time trial.  If you have been to one of our time trials before, you can see if you can beat your pre-lockdown time.  If it's your first, then you can set yourself a time to beat in the future.  It's a bit like parkrun, but on bikes. There will also be a coached activity before the time trial to learn the circuit and practice some skills. This will allow us to group riders based on bicycle type and skills levels. You will then recieve an email on Saturday, detailing your 'group assembly point' and other important information. If you are not booked in, you will not be able to attend the session. What is a Park Ride ? We have a circuit of 1 km at the Silk Mills park and ride which you ride around several times. It is a bit like a 'park run' and it helps you to improve your stamina.
